"The value is more than the price"
I began using the first Pit video and I've lost 20 lbs since January. Now I use the CrossPit video to get my workouts in 30-45 minutes. As a black belt without a school to attend right now, this video keeps me in shape and I do it in my garage. John Hackleman keeps it simple and the applications are effective. No frills action just straight to the point and the video is high quality. You guys didn't over-think the idea just put the right warm-ups, routines and explanations into one DVD. The value is more than the price. I would've paid twice as much! Looking forward to more products.

I recently, received the Pit work out dvd, this is no joke! I tried it and it really kicked my butt. This is not your average pretty boy work out, with all the fancy dance moves informercial bull S@#T. This is a serious kick your butt work out. I will definately reccomend it to others.

This work out will have you begging for mercy. High intense work out. After completing the three setions, my body felt like it got run over by train. This work out will whip you into shape, it works your whole body, even muscles you didn't think you had.

"most complete workouts"
This is by far one of the most complete workouts I've ever seen, and is only on a 2 dvd set- unbelievable! This is a true test of how in shape you actually are....I work and train for muay thai on a daily basis, but never grow tired of working out with the cast of the pit workout. This is EASILY the best $20 I've EVER spent.

"Excellent In-Home Workout"
I have to workout at home for various reasons and tend to favor MMA or bodyweight style workouts where I can get strength training and cardio together in one workout. The CrossPit Workouts are exactly the type workouts I love. You get strength training, cardio and fighting all in one. If you can do these 2 workouts and they don't kick your butt your a better man than me.

You will not get bored of this workout - no matter how much you do it!

I've tried a ton of classes, DVDs, equipment, etc. I like variety so I don't get bored. But, I've been doing the Original Pit workout for a year now and it is always a challenge. It works muscles in ways other workouts can't - the heavy bag work and anaerobic drills have worked wonders on my abs!

I am SO EXCITED about the Cross-Pit DVD I just ordered. It will be especially convenient to have 30 minute DVDs for when I don't have the time to do a full Pit workout. I hope more releases are in the works!

“AWESOME! It made me sweat more than any other workout I've ever done. I used to train for figure competitions, and I wish I had this when I was training. Great for cardio. You end up doing around 200-210 pushups, lots of jumping, good ab workout. All around, I prefer this to any other workouts. I also bought the Special Ops Training and that doesn't work you like this does. If you're choosing between the two, I suggest this one!”
"Great No-Frills Workout!"
“The Pit Workout DVD consists of three hour-long workouts. The first is upper body, the second lower body, and the third both upper and lower. No equipment is needed (a punchbag is optional), so it can be performed anywhere. 

This will get you into shape! Anyone who says it's easy is not doing it right..it's as simple as that! And simplicity is the key to The Pit. The exercises are tough and are broken up with hiting or kicking the bag (or shadow boxing if you don't have a bag handy). 

Although Chuck Lidell's name is used to sell the DVD, the workout is taught by John Hackelman (Lidell's teacher). Hackelman is a great teacher. 

Bottom line: If you buy this DVD and follow the workouts three times a week, you will get into great shape!”

I would highly recommend this workout. It not only a great cardio workout, but it also teaches boxing and MMA techniques.
"This isn't Tae Bo...This is THE PIT"
I train in martial arts and have been looking for ways to improve my cardio. I started with running and biking but that got boring quick. I then looked for exercise videos and yes (I am ashamed to say) I even tried Tae Bo. However, even with weights on all four of my extremities I still had no problem doing the entire Tae Bo cardio workout. Then I found The Pit Workout by John Hackelman (the trainer of Chuck Liddell - UFC light heavyweight champion). 

This is a Killer workout series consisting of three workouts. One upper body workout, one lower body workout and one full body workout. Each lasts about an hour. Although you don't have to own a heavy bag/wavemaster to do the upper and lower body workouts you would probably benefit more by having one. 

At one point of the workout (when I was about to puke) he actually says, "This isn't Tae Bo... This is the Pit" - LOL. 

I can see where Liddell gets his knockout power if he does these workouts.

I have probably every bodyweight style workout tape, DVD or book and this one is by far the best. It definitely kicked my ass and will be my primary workout for the future. Just wanted to say "The Pit Master" is the best!!  Very challenging and practical conditioning builder, perfect for the days I can't make it to my workout sessions at my school.  And Chuck's fight at UFC 66 was great...he's my inspiration, (and my age) so that keeps me motivated.  Thank the "Pit Master" for me.

 I thought i'd see what the PIT Work out had to offer, i have been training in Muay Thai for 6 years and even trained in Thailand, i'm not saying this training dvd will get you sweating as much as training over there, however it is not far off. If you can keep up with the amount of push ups in the upper body disc, your a better person than me! It is 100% not a Billy Blank Tai'Bo kind of disc, if that is what your after, go find something else my friend............these dvds will break you.

"Great workout for the martial artist/combat athlete"

Most serious martial artists and combat athletes understand the importance of physical conditioning. While there are numerous methods to improve physical fitness, such as weight training and long distance running, one thing to take into consideration is the fact that self defense and combat sports are more anaerobic than aerobic. Rather than spending a small amount of energy over a long period of time, martial arts instead requires multiple short burst of maximum exertion.

In The PIT Workout DVD, trainer John Hackelman clearly understands the physical demands placed on the combat athlete. As the trainer of former UFC champ Chuck Liddell, his results speak for themselves. Hackelman gives shows three workouts in his two set DVD; one for the upper body, another for the lower body, and then a killer full body workout. Each workout incudes a good mix of calisthenics and plyometrics. The upper body workout focuses on several variations of hand and elbow strikes and different methods of push ups. The lower body workout of course has a lot of focus on kicks and knee strikes, and the full body workout mixed the two.

While perhaps not completely necessary, you will need a few pieces of equipment in order to get the maximum benefit out of The Pit Workout. Luckily, most martial artists will already have most of these items. If you can, pick up a jump rope, bag or mma gloves, and a heavy bag. The striking combinations may be done in the air, but it would be much more beneficial to have something to actually strike to help build power.

This is a fantastic workout, and if you don't have access to a gym, this will get you in shape. If you already have an established conditioning program, then this is an awesome way to supplement that program. Highly recommended.

"The most intense workout I have ever done"

I have purchased several products on amazon but have rarely been compelled to write a review--the Pit Workout is the most notable exception. First off, I like to work hard at the gym with weight training and cardio four days a week. I really thought I was in shape but the Pit DVD immediately made clear this WAS NOT the case! The first day--the upper body workout--absolutely destroyed me. I was panting, shaking my head in disbelief, vomited three times, and experienced biting muscle soreness even before the workout was over. The other two workouts were no different. This is a GREAT program that will truly leave you feeling as if you have accomplished something; the thing is just an onslaught that never quits! HIGHLY recommended!

I ordered this DVD to supplement my gym workouts. At 29 and a former infantry Marine, I thought I could take it all. Boy was I surprised. I completely underestimated the intensity of this video. It made me sweat and at times I felt a little queasy. I loved it!!

This workout is the hardest i have done by far. you better be in real good shape to do this. Not a workout for the faint at heart. This makes tae bo look easy.

Great video for just about everyone. Many of the techniques are ones many people probably already use. There are also many that people may not know about. Either way, there is something for everyone. A great cardio workout, but definately not an instructional. Lots of pushups and punches. This video won't make you Chuck Liddell, but will definately get you in great shape. If you like this video you should also check out Bas Rutten's workout videos. Both workouts are great because you can do them just about anywhere. No excersise equipment needed. I have both videos and they compliment each other. Bas's videos have really helped my hand speed with my combinations as well as my cardio. I bought The Pit for something new in my workout routine. I really like the no nonsense workout. This workout will test you mentally and physically. Great video, especially for the price, you can't beat it.

"BUY THIS DVD NOW"
I started using The pit 3 months ago I was Diagnosed diabetic and at 320 pounds I was on a one way train to death. I am now over 50 pounds lighter and my blood sugar levels are normal John will work the Hell out of you but it is well worth it !!!!! just listen to him and do what he says  and if you can't go at the pace at first don't give up you will get better over time. I credit this DVD and John Hackelman's motivating of me with saving my life.

"LOVE IT!"
This is an amazing workout.  At first, I could barely keep up but after 2 weeks or so, it began to get easier.  I started seeing reults after about 2-3 weeks.  I lost inches off my hips and my legs were thinner and firmer as was my butt and arms.  I felt strong and healthy and my body was noticably toner.  I recommend this workout to anyone who wants results.

"Ass Kicker"
When I first watched the dvd, I thought I could easily do both works in one training session. After the first 20 mins, I was about ready to throw up! Great way to get in shape and stay in shape. I own both the pit work out and the crosspit work out dvd's. Other then running, these workouts are all I do or need.
